What visitors mention
An open-air kiosk right on The Strand walkway, built for dog walkers. Tobruk Kiosk sits beside the historic Tobruk Memorial Baths at the North Ward end of The Strand, looking out across Cleveland Bay to Magnetic Island. It is a genuine local dog-walking stop for coffee and a light bite.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and footpath seating. The counter faces the beach and pool side, so you can order without leaving your dog tied up out of sight, and water bowls are usually provided.
Known for. Good coffee, muffins and quick light lunches, with the bay view doing most of the work. A favourite rest stop partway along the foreshore walk.
Getting there and parking. On The Strand at North Ward. Street parking runs along the foreshore and fills on weekends, so you may end up on a nearby side street. Easiest reached on foot along the paved walkway.
Nearby with the dog. The Strand walkway stretches for kilometres in both directions on-lead, and the Strand Rockpool is a short walk north. For an off-lead run, Rowes Bay dog beach is a short drive away (check current council signage).
Pepsi's takegolden retriever
Best early morning or late afternoon when the heat eases and the walkway is busy with other dogs.
