Marina Coffee

Marina Coffee sits at Shop 1, 26 Mariners Drive in the Breakwater Marina precinct, a short hop from The Strand, with patio seating looking across the yacht berths. This is one of the Townsville cafes that actively courts dogs - the owners' own line is that every pup is family, and the staff put their water bowls where their policy is.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and patio tables on lead. Staff regularly put out water bowls and will do a puppuccino on request, which is rarer than it should be. The marina apron is a calm setting that suits a settled dog, but bring your own bowl as backup on busy mornings when the staff water bowls are in use.

The menu

Breakfast and lunch run on a straightforward all-day format: eggs benedict and the crab sandwich regulars order, freshly baked goods, gluten-free options, smoothies including the mango one for the tropics, teas and honest coffee. Doors open early, from around 6.30am, with service running through the morning into the early afternoon; hours can flex by day, so check the venue's socials if you are aiming at a late afternoon slot.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is off Mariners Drive at Breakwater Marina. Marina parking sits on site, with more along Mariners Drive and near the Strand end, and walking paths connect the precinct straight through to the foreshore. It is an easy stop to bolt onto a Strand loop rather than a destination that needs its own car trip.

Close by with the dogs

The Strand promenade runs 2.2 kilometres along the water and is on-lead all the way under Townsville City Council rules, with dogs barred from the playground and water park zones, so plan the walk on-lead and save the off-lead leg for Orleigh Dog Park at West End.
