Think Local Community Cafe is a social-enterprise coffee trailer parked at the front of the Thornbury Church of Christ on St Georges Road, with proceeds going to food relief. Seating is all open-air, so dogs are welcome alongside you.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the open-air area in front of the van, on the church property and off the St Georges Road footpath. All seating is outdoors by the nature of the setup. Keep dogs on lead, since it sits on a busy road.

Good to know. It pours Fairtrade organic coffee and does gourmet toasties along with vegan and gluten-free muffins and cakes. There is a community pantry on the same site. Service comes from volunteers and staff.

Getting there. The van is at 455 St Georges Road. It is open Monday to Friday, roughly 6am to 1pm, and closed weekends. On-site parking is limited, but street parking is available on the surrounding residential streets. A St Georges Road tram stops nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. Penders Park is a short five to ten minute walk for a run, and the Merri Creek trail is reachable for a longer scenic walk.

When to go. A weekday is the only option given the hours, and earlier is calmer. Good for an on-lead coffee stop slotted into a weekday walk.
