Space Cafe sits at 183 Fitzroy Street, a busy brunch spot that makes a point of welcoming dogs. The footpath tables put you in the thick of Fitzroy Street, close to the beach end.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating, which is the main option as indoor space is limited. Staff are accommodating and often bring water, but carry your own bowl for busy stretches.

Getting there. On-street parking on Fitzroy Street is limited and time-restricted, so the side streets or the Albert Park reserve are worth a look. Trams 16, 96 and 12 run along Fitzroy Street and St Kilda Road.

Nearby with the dogs. St Kilda Beach is a short walk away, and Fitzroy Street itself is a lively strip to wander after coffee.
