Hello Sparrow Cafe

Hello Sparrow is a small, relaxed brunch cafe at 126A Chapel Street, near the St Kilda Road end, handy as a stop between St Kilda and Balaclava. It opens early, which makes it a useful first coffee on a morning dog walk.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables out front. Indoor seating is for people only, so this is a fine-weather stop. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl to be safe.

Good to know. The draw is the coffee and a tidy brunch and lunch menu, with the Korean fried chicken burger and chilli scramble among the regular picks. It is generally open from 7am into the mid-afternoon.

Getting there. Street parking runs along Chapel Street and the side streets, and it gets competitive around lunch, so check the signs for time limits. Trams on St Kilda Road and the route 78 on Chapel Street put you within a short walk.

Nearby with the dogs. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk down to St Kilda Beach and the pier, and Chapel Street itself is an easy pre- or post-coffee stroll.
