Little Corner Cafe

Little Corner Cafe is a small, industrial-style local at 8/10 Britton Street, Smithfield, open weekday mornings from 6am for breakfast and quick lunches, and closed weekends. It is a no-fuss stop rather than a destination cafe, which suits an easy weekday coffee with the dog in tow.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area out front; indoor seating is people only, in line with standard NSW food premises rules. Keep the dog leashed and close, since the outdoor tables sit in a working industrial strip with regular foot and vehicle traffic. There is no water bowl station, so bring your own.

The vibe

Regulars come for the chips and the butter chicken with rice, plus quick Vietnamese pork rolls and sandwiches for a fast lunch. Closing times stretch a little later through the week, up to 3:30pm on Fridays, and it is best thought of as a tradie-and-locals cafe: quick, friendly and unpretentious. The morning rush runs hardest between 7 and 9, so mid-morning is the relaxed window if you want a table with room for the dog to lie down.

Pepsi: it is a grab-and-go kind of place, so order the pork roll, take the corner table out front and let the dog watch the forklifts.

The cafe is just off The Horsley Drive and Woodpark Road in Smithfield, with on-site parking available, which makes it an easy stop for anyone driving through western Sydney's industrial belt.
