GB Coffee

GB Coffee is a locally owned cafe on Maude Street in central Shepparton, built around locally roasted coffee and quick, house-made food. For dog owners it is a straightforward footpath stop on the main drag: claim an outdoor table on the flat paving, settle the dog beside you, and work through a flat white and a focaccia while the town goes past.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables on Maude Street rather than inside the main cafe, and the flat, wide paving makes it easy to keep a dog settled at your feet. Staff are generally happy to bring a water bowl on request, though packing your own is the safe move. The street can be busy at peak times, so a dog comfortable with foot traffic will have the easiest time.

The vibe

The coffee is the headline, roasted locally, with reviewers equally taken by the macarons, shashuka, halloumi and the cake cabinet. It is a bustling spot in the mornings, and it runs longer than many regional cafes: 7am to 5pm weekdays and 8am to 4pm Saturdays, closed Sundays, so a weekday or Saturday morning is the natural window for the dog-and-coffee lap.

The cafe sits in the Maude Street retail block in the heart of Shepparton, with a mix of free and paid street parking nearby and public car parks within a short walk. The central Maude Street area is flat and easy to walk with a dog on lead.

Victoria Park Lake and the Goulburn River walking tracks are both close for a proper stroll before or after coffee, and the Shepparton Fenced Dog Park at Princess Park is the dedicated off-lead option.
