Coffee on Indi

Coffee on Indi is the local coffee bar on Indi Avenue, Red Cliffs' main street, about 15 minutes south of Mildura. It is a reliable Sunraysia stop for a well-made flat white and a dog-friendly outdoor table, and the staff's soft spot for dogs is part of the shop's identity: there is a wall of dog photos inside to prove it.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables at the front of the cafe, on lead and with you for the whole visit. Staff are known to bring a water bowl out unprompted, and a puppy chino is usually on offer. Indoor seating stays dog-free under standard food service rules, so on hot Mallee days aim for the shaded end of the front area rather than hoping for a table inside.

Worth knowing

The coffee uses 100% Romanza beans, a point of difference in the region, and the baking happens in house: the spinach and feta scones, carrot cake and banana bread are the regular call-outs, alongside eggs benedict, porridge and breakfast wraps. Dietary coverage is broad, with vegan, gluten-free and keto options on the menu. Hours run 6:30am to 2pm on weekdays with weekends from 8am, both closing at 2pm, so plan for mornings rather than an afternoon stop.

Getting there and parking

Red Cliffs sits on the Calder Highway corridor between Mildura and the southern Mallee, and Indi Avenue is the town's main strip with street parking out front. It works as a leg-stretch stop on the drive into Mildura or out towards the national parks.

Close by with the dogs
