Tuyo is a small, well-regarded cafe on a leafy stretch of Victoria Street in Potts Point, and it makes no secret of being dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome at the al-fresco tables out front, so it is an easy coffee stop on the way to or from the local parks.

The dog setup. Dogs join you at the outdoor seating on the footpath along Victoria Street, which catches good morning sun. There is a lead-clip at the outdoor tables so you can secure your dog, and water bowls are usually on hand. The footpath area is compact, so it suits one or two well-mannered dogs rather than a big group.

Good to know. Reviewers rate the coffee highly and consistently call out the shakshuka, corn fritters and haloumi stack. It is a quieter pocket of Potts Point, a few minutes' walk from the main strip. Being small, the outdoor tables fill fast at weekend brunch, so arrive early if you want a spot with your dog.

Getting there. Tuyo is at 142 Victoria Street, roughly a 5 to 7 minute walk from Kings Cross Station. Parking is metered street parking on Victoria Street and nearby Ward Avenue and Orwell Street, and it gets tight between 10am and 1pm on weekends.

Nearby with the dogs. Embarkation Park is a short walk away for leashed harbour views, and Rushcutters Bay Park is about 15 minutes on foot for a proper off-leash run. Fitzroy Gardens near the El Alamein Fountain is another easy leashed stroll after coffee.
