What visitors mention
Borough Chambers is a restored heritage building on Bank Street in the centre of Port Fairy, running as a specialty coffee shop by day and a bar and kitchen later on. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating, so it works as a coffee stop on the main strip rather than a sit-down spot for the dog at your feet indoors.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out the front, on lead. There is no courtyard, so seating is street-side on Bank Street. Bring your own water bowl to be safe, and keep the lead short, since the footpath gets busy in summer and during the Folk Festival.
Good to know. The coffee is ST. ALi, and the kitchen does wholesome breakfast fare like bacon and egg rolls. It opens early, from around 6:30am, which makes it a sensible first stop before a beach or river walk.
Getting there. It sits at 20 Bank Street, in the heart of town. On-street parking is available along Bank Street and the side streets, though spaces fill quickly over summer and on festival weekends, so be ready to walk a block or two.
Nearby with the dogs. The Moyne River walk is a couple of minutes away for a paved on-lead stroll, and East Beach is within easy reach for a longer leg-stretch, with seasonal off-leash rules to check on the Moyne Shire signs.
Best as a morning or mid-afternoon coffee stop when the footpath is quieter. Good for dogs that settle at your feet on a busy street.
