BOOtoo

BOOtoo is a casual cafe and wood-fired pizzeria at 274 Bulwer Street on the Highgate fringe, sitting directly across from Hyde Park. That location is the whole pitch for dog owners: it is a natural coffee stop at the start or end of a lap of the park, and the pizza kitchen means it works just as well for an evening session.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the shaded outdoor seating that faces Bulwer Street and the park, not in the main room. The alfresco area is reasonably roomy, so there is space to settle a dog beside your chair, and staff are used to pups coming through with Hyde Park walkers. Bring your own water bowl to be safe on hot Perth days.

The vibe and the menu

The bigger sibling to local favourite BOOespresso, BOOtoo pours well-regarded coffee all day from 7:30am, then leans Neapolitan wood-fired pizza into the evening, with a Margherita done properly and vegetarian and vegan options through the menu. Expect skin-on fries, small plates, rotating cakes and pastries, and a relaxed, distinctly Italian neighbourhood feel that carries from morning coffee through to dinner.

Getting there and parking

Bulwer Street parking is metered and busy, so walking from the park is the easiest arrival with a dog. Hyde Park is the obvious exercise ground either side of coffee, and the Jack Marks Reserve fenced dog park in Highgate is close by for a fully off-lead run. For another dog-friendly coffee nearby, Lume Cafe and Blacksmith are both on the same side of the suburb.
