Elatte Cafe

Elatte Cafe is a neighbourhood breakfast and lunch spot on Villiers Road in Padstow Heights, a residential pocket of Canterbury-Bankstown not far from the Georges River. It is a genuine local, with regulars dropping in on their way through, and dogs are welcome at the street-side outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome outside, where the cafe keeps its footpath tables. It is a compact area shared with other diners and passing foot traffic, so standard cafe etiquette applies: leash on, dog settled beside the table and out of the walkway. Bring your own collapsible water bowl rather than counting on one being out, and you have an easy pre- or post-walk coffee stop.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is strong on breakfast and lunch staples with generous portions. Ricotta pancakes come up constantly, alongside smashed avo, benedicts and a salmon power bowl, with milkshakes and mixed berry smoothies covering the drinks side. Hours run 6am to 3pm weekdays and 7am to 3pm on weekends, so the early coffee crowd is well looked after and brunch runs right through.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at 101 Villiers Road, Padstow Heights. Free street parking is available along Villiers Road and the surrounding blocks, and it is usually easy outside peak breakfast hours, though weekend mornings get busier.

Close by with the dogs

The surrounding residential streets make an easy on-lead walk, and the Georges River parklands are a short drive for a longer outing. For a dedicated off-lead run, Virginius Reserve Fenced Dog Park is the closest fenced option.
