652espresso is the Sunshine Coast's neighbourhood all-rounder at Shop 2, 652 David Low Way in the northern beaches village behind Mudjimba, pouring Campos coffee in the morning and cocktails and live music in the evening slots. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, and the village setting makes it an easy stop between the off-leash beach and home.

The dog setup

Dogs settle in at the outdoor tables, on lead, with staff relaxed about well-behaved animals joining the table. The venue doubles as a licensed bar with a kids area and regular live music, so evenings have more going on; the calm dog-friendly window is the morning coffee run, particularly Wednesday and Thursday when the doors stay open to 2pm. There is no dog menu, so bring water on warm mornings.

The vibe and the menu

The menu covers more ground than the espresso name suggests: Campos coffee, acai bowls, banana bread, loaded bagels, burgers and smoothies, with gluten-free and vegetarian options, plus beer, wine and cocktails for the evening trade. Hours run from 6am, closing midday most days, to 1pm or 2pm midweek, and closed Sundays. Friday sessions with live music are the local draw.

Getting there and parking

The shop fronts David Low Way in the village strip, with parking directly out front. For the dog leg, Mudjimba's off-leach beach is a few minutes south, with the Twin Waters ocean-side zone running off lead at all times between accesses 132 and 136, and the fenced run at Marcoola Fenced Dog Park just north. The Island Surf & Espresso on the Mudjimba Esplanade is the nearby dog-friendly coffee alternative.
