Olive and Oregano Bakehouse

Olive and Oregano Bakehouse is a Lebanese bakery on Seville Street in North Parramatta, turning out fresh manoush, pide and oven-baked pizzas from early morning, and it welcomes dogs at its outdoor seating. It is a working bakehouse rather than a brunch room: order at the counter, take a flatbread straight from the oven and sit outside with the coffee.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, on lead and settled beside the table while you eat. There is no dog menu or treat jar to point to, so bring water on warm mornings and check with staff where the dog-friendly tables are if the front is busy. The vibe and the menu

The draw is the bread: za'atar and cheese manoush made to order, pide, labne and rocket salads, and weekday breakfast combos early in the week. Hours run from 6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, to 2pm Friday, and 8am to 2pm on weekends, so the weekend window is shorter and the queue longer. Regulars rate it highly for the freshness, and the smell of the ovens does the advertising on Seville Street.

Seville Street sits in the residential pocket east of the North Parramatta shops, with street parking on the surrounding blocks. Pair a visit with the fenced run at Dan Mahoney Reserve, a few minutes away on Gladstone Street, or the on-lead Lake Parramatta Reserve circuit for a longer walk either side of breakfast.
