Mobrew Coffee

Mobrew Coffee is a coffee counter inside the Mowbray Newsagency at 258 Invermay Road, a few kilometres north of the Launceston CBD. It is a genuine one-stop morning stop: espresso and hot drinks at the counter, papers and magazines off the rack, and a lottery ticket on the way out. Dogs are welcome, which turns a routine newsagency errand into a stop worth walking to.

The dog setup

The counter sits inside a working newsagency with limited indoor space, so the footpath tables directly in front of the shop are where dogs belong. Staff are known for a friendly word and a quick serve for dog owners on their morning rounds, and water bowls are often put out for visiting dogs. Bring your own as backup for slower days.

Worth knowing

This is a fast-turnover counter rather than a sit-down brunch destination, and that is the point. Regulars call out the friendly staff, the newspapers and the early open. Hours run 5am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday with a shorter 5am to 1pm Saturday window; Sunday is closed, so plan your weekend coffee run accordingly. Card payment is accepted, and it doubles as a handy gift or stationery stop if you need more than caffeine.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Invermay Road right outside, and the shop is an easy pull-in on the main bus route through Mowbray.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper leg stretch, the Heritage Forest Fenced Dog Park in Invermay is a short drive south, with fenced off-lead space to burn energy before or after the coffee. Rocherlea Recreation Ground is the other fenced option on this side of Launceston.
