Blue Social Eatery publishes its own dog-friendly guide, which puts it a step above most venues on this front: dogs are welcomed in the outdoor seating area, water bowls and dog beds are provided, and a puppacino is on the menu as a treat. The venue sits at 2-4 Invermay Road on the northern edge of Launceston, opening 8am to 3pm most days and running late to 8pm Thursday through Saturday.

The dog setup

This is the rare cafe where the dog amenities are official rather than incidental: water bowls and dog beds come out with the seating, and the puppacino is a listed item, so there is no need to negotiate anything on arrival. The outdoor seating area is where dogs stay, indoors remains humans-only, and with doors open late Thursday to Saturday the evening session works for a dinner stop that most cafe menus do not attempt. The food runs heartier than the typical coffee shop: Korean chicken draws the queues, the lamb wrap and sausage roll carry the daytime orders, and the portions are known for being generous for the price. On fine days the outdoor tables fill early, so a mid-morning arrival is the safest window with a dog.
