Fork N Flower

Fork N Flower sits inside the Geelong Flower Farm on the Bellarine Highway in Moolap, a licensed cafe that does country-style breakfasts and lunches by day and a Thai leaning dinner menu Thursday to Saturday nights. It is one of the better known dog friendly stops east of Geelong, with a proper enclosed courtyard for four legged guests.

The dog setup

Dogs are not allowed in the main dining room, but the sheltered, fully enclosed and heated outdoor courtyard is theirs, on lead and settled beside your table. There is no fee for bringing the dog, treats are available to buy, and the cafe's signature is a bacon crumb puppaccino that local dogs seem to rate. The courtyard is roomy enough that you are not jammed against neighbouring tables.

The vibe

Barista coffee, the crab scramble and a seasonal high tea with sparkling wine and scones anchor the daytime menu, and the green chicken curry and crispy pork carry the Asian inflection into dinner service. It is open 8:30am to 4pm daily. Bookings are worth making for high tea and weekend meals, since the courtyard fills; early weekend breakfast is the relaxed window with the dog.

The address is 392-400 Bellarine Highway, a short drive east from central Geelong towards Leopold. Free off-street parking sits right outside, and bus routes 56 and 61 from Geelong station pass through Moolap if you arrive without the car.
