Noble Foods is a cafe and food store at 35 Ash Road in Leopold, combining quality coffee and a hearty cafe menu with a curated stash of local produce to take home. It sits just off the Bellarine Highway, which makes it a practical stop if you are heading through from Geelong towards the peninsula with the dog in the car, and leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating alongside the cafe.

The dog setup

Dogs settle in at the outdoor tables next to the cafe, on lead. Staff will usually bring out a water bowl on request, and the cafe has been known to stock local dog bickies behind the counter, so it pays to ask if you would like one for your co-pilot. It is a straightforward, no-fuss arrangement: street-side tables, friendly staff, and a neighbourhood crowd that is used to dogs. The indoor store and dining area is not for dogs, so time your visit for weather that makes the outdoor tables workable.

Worth knowing

The kitchen has a following for its pies, including a braised red wine beef number, alongside pasties, salad rolls and fresh cakes, with gluten-free and dairy-free options on hand. The coffee is a genuine draw rather than an add-on, and the retail side sells local goods and take-home meals. It runs 7:30am to 2:30pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm Saturdays, and closes Sundays, so weekend visits mean Saturday mornings only. The outdoor tables fill during the breakfast rush, so earlier is easier with a dog.

Getting there and parking

There is free off-street parking right at the location plus street parking around Ash Road, so arriving with the dog is easy. The turnoff from the Bellarine Highway is quick, which is why this works as a through-stop as much as a destination.

Close by with the dogs

For a leg-stretch afterwards, the Gateway Sanctuary on Melaluka Road is a short drive: a community nature reserve with ponds, boardwalk-style loop paths and picnic spots where dogs are welcome on lead. Leopold War Memorial Reserve is another nearby grassy option. For a second coffee, Coffee Is Here is in the same suburb, and First Chapter Coffee sits just up the road in Moolap.
