Niche Espresso

Niche Espresso sits at Shop 2, 2 Dawn Parade in Miami, just off the Gold Coast Highway and an easy walk from the beach. It opens 5:30am on weekdays and Saturdays and 6am on Sundays, closing early afternoon, which makes it a genuine first-stop for a dawn patrol walk rather than a mid-morning one.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area and staff are attentive with them, supplying water on request. It runs table service with tablet ordering, so you can stay seated with your dog rather than queueing inside. Bring a travel bowl on busy weekend mornings and expect a short wait, because this pocket fills early.

Worth knowing

The coffee is specialty grade and the drinks list goes further than most: creative cold-foam coffees such as Biscoff and salted maple, plus a strawberry matcha with a following. Food covers breakfast wraps, a breaky burger, eggs benedict, hash browns, acai bowls and a decent spread of gluten-free and vegan options. There is no formal dog menu, but the vibe is community-minded and social dogs are a common sight.

Getting there and parking

Dawn Parade runs off the highway between Miami and the Burleigh backstreets, with on-street parking plus a few dedicated off-street bays out front. From the cafe it is a few minutes east to Miami Beach, so check the signage for current off-leash times before unclipping on the sand.

Close by with the dogs

The Burleigh Esplanade makes a good on-lead coastal leg either side of breakfast, and Pizzey Park Fenced Dog Park in Mermaid Waters is the closest proper off-leash run. Caffeine Kings is the backup coffee in the same suburb.
