The Holliday. Coffee is a relaxed corner takeaway nook in the Nobby Beach pocket of Mermaid Beach, built for locals who wander down with a dog on the lead and a beach towel over one shoulder. The draw is simple: good espresso, a sunny open-air corner, and a spot where the dog is genuinely part of the scene rather than tolerated at the edge of it.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor corner seating, which is open-air and casual. Water bowls go out for visiting dogs, and the bench right at the window works well for a quick stop when you do not want to fully settle in. Indoor space is minimal anyway, so the outdoor area is where you and the dog belong.

The menu

The espresso is the headline, along with the much-photographed cold coffee, three-cheese jaffles, honeycomb macadamia butter crumpets and loaded slab sandwiches. It is a light-bites-and-caffeine kind of place, easy to fit around a walk. Doors open early, 5:30am daily, closing 1:30pm weekdays and 12:30pm weekends.

Pepsi: Grab the window bench with your coffee, then walk it off on the beach path. The salt air and the crumbs make this a proper morning out.

Getting there and parking

Find it on the corner of Wave Street in Nobby Beach, a short walk from the main dining strip. Street parking runs along Wave Street and the surrounding residential streets and fills fast on weekend mornings, so come early or park a block back and stroll in.

Close by with the dogs

The beach path is a short walk east, and a coffee here pairs naturally with a stretch of sand. For a fenced run, Pizzey Park at Mermaid Waters is the big local option, while Chut & Co up the road keeps the dog-friendly theme going. The Burleigh Esplanade walk south is a good long-walk finisher.
