Canetastic

Canetastic is a sugarcane juice bar at 142 Terminus Street in the Liverpool CBD that runs an evening schedule, opening from 5pm daily until around 11pm. It is a walk-up, street-side stop rather than a sit-down brunch place: cane juice pressed fresh in front of you, fruit slushies and ginger shots, with kerbside footpath seating out front where a leashed dog can wait with you.

The dog setup

The seating is open-air footpath space on Terminus Street, so a well-mannered dog on a lead can settle beside you while you drink. There is no dedicated dog menu or enclosed patio, and the counter is indoors, so expect to duck inside to order and leave your dog outside for a minute. Bring your own water and a collapsible bowl; nothing is provided for dogs at this one.

Worth knowing

The draw is the sugarcane: juice pressed to order with no additives, blended slushies such as watermelon cane and lime with mint, and strong ginger shots. Hot drinks like sahlab appear in the colder months. Terminus Street is a busy, lively strip in the evening, so this suits social dogs comfortable with foot traffic rather than nervous ones.

Getting there and parking

The bar is a short walk from Liverpool Station, which makes it an easy add-on to an evening CBD walk with the dog. Street parking along Terminus Street and the side streets fills through the dinner hours, so arriving before the peak makes the stop quicker.

Close by with the dogs

The Georges River walkway gives you a paved on-leash stroll near the city centre, and under council rules your dog stays on lead outside signed off-leash zones.
