Bigge Espresso

Bigge Espresso is a small quick-stop coffee and street-food cafe at 124 Bigge Street, Liverpool, across the road from Bigge Park and the Liverpool Hospital precinct. It opens with the tradie rush, weekdays from 5:30am, and is built for fast turnaround: pavement seating out front, hot rolls off the grill, and a proper espresso. Dogs are welcome at that outdoor pavement seating, which makes it a practical stop when you are walking the dog around the park.

The dog setup

Your dog sits beside you at the outdoor tables on the Bigge Street footpath, on lead, with the park directly across the street for the walk either side of the coffee. This is a busy hospital-adjacent footpath with constant foot traffic, so it suits calm, well-socialised dogs and is less ideal if yours is unsettled by people passing close. Water bowls are not a given, so pack your own.

The vibe

The kitchen turns out the classics built for speed: hot bacon and egg rolls, brekkie pods, ham and cheese toasties, paninis like the grilled chicken, halloumi and pesto, and croissants in almond and ham-cheese-tomato form. Portions run large and the coffee is the Full Throttle blend through Clean Skin Coffee Co, poured by professional baristas who get a steady stream of regulars. Hours are weekdays 5:30am to 3:30pm, Saturday 6:30am to 12:30pm, closed Sunday. Go early on a weekday for a quiet footpath.

Getting there and parking

Paid street parking lines Bigge Street and the surrounding blocks, with paid hospital parking across the road. Liverpool station is a short walk for anyone arriving by train.
