Milkhouse Kurnell

Milkhouse Kurnell is a casual brunch cafe at 8 Torres Street in the heart of Kurnell, and one of the more reliably dog-friendly stops on the peninsula. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables and in the courtyard, which makes it a natural start or finish to a walk on the foreshore or a run at the Bonna Point end of Silver Beach.

The dog setup

Dogs join you outdoors, at the tables and in the courtyard under umbrellas for shade. Inside is generally not open to dogs, so plan for an outside table even if the weather turns. Water bowls are usually put out near the entrance, and the courtyard is popular enough with locals that a social dog will usually find company.

The vibe

The kitchen leans brunch: acai bowls, brekky burgers, frittata and toasties, plus a well-regarded bacon and egg roll, with gluten-free and healthier options on the menu and competent barista work behind the machine. It opens from 7am Monday to Saturday and 7:30am Sunday, closing at 2pm. Weekdays are calm; weekends bring families and beach walkers in off the sand.

Getting there and parking

Torres Street sits a short way back from the Kurnell foreshore, with free street parking in the surrounding residential streets. Access from the street to the outdoor tables is flat and easy, so prams and older dogs are not a problem.

Close by with the dogs

The Silver Beach off-leash section at Bonna Point is a short drive or a decent walk away, and the Greenhills Beach Dog Off Lead area stretches along the sand nearby for a proper off-lead swim. Down on the waterfront, the Silver Beach Cafe, Post Office & Newsagency does takeaway coffee right on the Prince Charles Parade strip if you want a second stop mid-walk.
