Choux Box

Choux Box has held down a beachfront spot on Marine Parade since 1993, directly opposite Kingscliff Beach, and it is one of the more reliably dog-friendly cafes on the strip.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, undercover and footpath seating that runs along the front. That seating is next to the main footpath and faces the beach, so you can keep an eye on your dog while you eat. Staff will usually offer a water bowl; carry your own as backup.

Good to know. A long-running local favourite with a broad breakfast and lunch menu and a big case of house-baked cakes and pastries. The chilli and lime squid and the nasi goreng get named often. Expect a busy, vibrant room on weekends.

Getting there. 82 Marine Parade. Metered parking runs along the parade and fills through peak hours and weekends, so allow time or arrive early.

Nearby with the dogs. Kingscliff Beach is right across the road, the Marine Parade walkway stretches north and south for an on-lead stroll, and there is a grassy park a short walk down the parade.
