The Wattle Tree Co.

The Wattle Tree Co. is a vintage coffee caravan at 150 Cambridge Road, Kilsyth, trading weekday mornings from a small alfresco seating area. It is an outdoor-only setup built for a walk-and-coffee stop, and it is genuinely set up for dogs: the owner's own dog Jessie is often on site, water bowls are put out for passing dogs, and homemade dog treats are sold at the van.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating around the van, and since the whole operation is alfresco there is no indoor divide to worry about. Free water bowls are set out, and the homemade dog treats give you something to order for your dog as well as yourself. It suits a short stop rather than a long sit, so well-mannered dogs on lead are the right fit.

Worth knowing

The van's claim to fame is its chilli coffee, poured at four spice levels, alongside chilli hot chocolate, spiced or vanilla chai, milkshakes and iced drinks. A rotating bake cabinet covers cookies, muffins, slices and banana bread, with toasted sandwiches for something savoury. Hours run Monday to Friday from 6am to 12:30pm, closed weekends, so this is a weekday-morning stop.

Getting there and parking

There is free off-street parking on site plus accessible parking and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, with kerbside spots along Cambridge Road as backup. The pull-in-and-order format makes it an easy pause mid-walk or on the drive to work.

Close by with the dogs

For a longer outing, Off Lead Dog Park is the Kilsyth option for an off-lead run, and Eastfield Fenced Dog Park in Croydon adds a fully fenced space with double-gated entry and agility equipment.
