Diggies Kiama

Diggies occupies a historic building at 1 Blowhole Point Road, literally beside the Kiama Blowhole, and its ocean-facing balcony and veranda take dogs. With an all-day kitchen and a licence for wine and cocktails, it covers everything from early coffee to a late-afternoon drink after the coastal walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome across the outdoor seating - the balcony and veranda over the water - while the indoor dining room stays people-only. Staff regularly put water bowls out for canine visitors. The position is the draw and also the catch: the outdoor tables fill fast on weekends and holidays, so arrive early for a railing seat and carry a portable bowl as backup.

Max: the balcony edge drops straight onto the rocks below. Clip the lead to your chair rather than the railing and the whole visit stays relaxed.

Worth knowing

Doors open at 7am daily, with closing times stretching later on Fridays and Saturdays. The kitchen leans coastal - fish tacos, fish and chips, salmon croquettes - with granola bowls and banana bread covering the breakfast crowd. Weekend lunch hours are peak tourist time; a weekday mid-morning visit gets the same view with far less jostling.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is an easy walk from the Kiama town centre or straight off the headland coastal path. Free off-street parking sits near the Blowhole, though it competes with sightseers in summer. The Blowhole itself is steps away for an on-lead look, and the coastal walk runs past the door.

While you're out there
