The Pink Cafe Kelmscott

The Pink Cafe is a bright, all-pink corner cafe at 1 Melody Street in the Kelmscott townsite, on the Perth Hills dog-friendly circuit drawn up by the local tourism guides. It opens Tuesday to Sunday, 7am to 2pm, and the alfresco tables out front are set up for diners with dogs.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcomed at the outdoor alfresco seating, which sits straight off the footpath, while the indoor space stays people-only. Staff have a reputation locally for being good with visiting dogs: water bowls come out, and treats or pup cups are not uncommon. The kitchen leans properly into dietary needs, with gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and dairy-free options across an all-day breakfast and lunch menu, and the gluten-free French toast gets a steady run of local praise. The cabinet is the other half of the story: house-baked cakes and slices, with scones and the vanilla slice the recurring favourites. Monday closures catch people out, so plan the post-park coffee for any other day of the week.

Getting there and parking

Melody Street runs just off the Kelmscott town centre, a couple of minutes from Albany Highway, with free street parking along the strip and around the village. Kelmscott station is walkable, and the cafe is an easy marker to find thanks to the colour scheme.
