Café Blanco

Cafe Blanco is a small, homely suburban cafe in the Kambah shops, serving Colombian and Venezuelan-inspired brunch dishes alongside quality local coffee. The handful of outdoor tables are where dog owners want to be: well-behaved dogs are welcome at both the front seating and the deck.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables as long as they stay on a leash and under control while you are seated. The cafe has a local reputation for being welcoming to dogs, but a water bowl is not guaranteed, so bring your own just in case.

The vibe

The menu leans Latin-inspired brunch, with dishes like spanish omelette and carnitas tacos drawing people back, and the coffee program holds its own against anything in the Tuggeranong town centres. There is also a small selection of local homewares for sale inside.

The room is quiet and neighbourhood-scale rather than a busy strip cafe, which is exactly what makes it easy with a dog. Hours run Tuesday to Friday from 7am and weekends from 8am, wrapping up around 2pm, so it is strictly a breakfast and lunch stop.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at Shop 1, 3 Carleton Street in the Kambah shops. Free street parking and a small free car park are both close by, which makes it an easy stop mid dog walk.

Close by with the dogs

The Greenway Dog Park is a short drive towards the lake, and the Lake Tuggeranong loop pairs well with a post-coffee stroll. In the same group of shops, Mannheim Cafe and On the Grind Canberra give you alternates for the next visit.
