What visitors mention
Beaumont Station Cafe is a family-run neighbourhood coffee spot on Hamilton's main strip, open early for the local walking crowd and comfortable having dogs settle in at the outdoor tables.
The setup. Dogs are not allowed inside, but the footpath and alfresco tables out front are fair game, tie up close to your table and out of the path of staff and other diners. There is no pet fee for dining. Water bowls are often set out on the pavement, but treat that as a bonus rather than a guarantee.
Known for. Solid espresso and a straightforward modern cafe menu, breakfast through to lunch, with a friendly, regulars-know-your-name kind of service.
Getting there. It is at 1 Beaumont Street, right in the middle of Hamilton's cafe strip, an easy walk if you are already out with the dog. Street parking on Beaumont Street and the side streets can be tight on weekend brunch hours, so get there early.
Gregson Park is about a 10 to 15 minute walk southwest for a proper run-around after coffee, and the Hamilton Station Hotel and Bennett Hotel both have dog-friendly beer gardens nearby if you want to keep the outing going.
