Biggs Coffee is a grab-and-go specialty coffee spot right outside Hamilton Station, and it has a reputation as one of the friendliest stops on Beaumont Street for dogs on their morning walk.

The setup. There is no indoor dining, so that is not a compromise for dog owners, everyone sits outside. A small courtyard and footpath tables out front are where you and your dog will wait for coffee. Keep dogs on lead given the footpath sits close to Beaumont Street traffic and the station forecourt.

Known for. Quality espresso and quick breakfast bites for commuters. Staff are known to make a fuss of dogs queuing with their owners, though treats and water bowls should be treated as a nice-to-have rather than guaranteed, check on the day.

Getting there. It sits at 1A Beaumont Street, right beside Hamilton Station, so it is an easy stop if you are walking in on the train line. Street parking on Beaumont Street is limited and fills fast on weekends, side streets nearby have a better chance.

Best visited early, it opens around 5am on weekdays, and a short stroll to Gregson Park on Tudor Street afterwards gives your dog some proper space to stretch out.
