Spill the Beans AT SEASCAPES

Spill the Beans at Seascapes is an all day breakfast and lunch cafe in the Seascapes Village precinct at Halls Head, a short stroll from the beach, and it treats dogs as regulars rather than an exception. The topics that come up again and again are friendly staff, outdoor seating and a decent flat white, with beach access close enough to fold the cafe into a proper coastal walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining area, which has direct paved access from the car park, so there is no threading a wet dog through the indoor dining room. Staff usually bring out a water bowl, and the counter sells homemade peanut butter bone shaped biscuits, which is a small thing that tells you the place is genuinely set up for dogs. Keep your dog leashed and settled; the outdoor area is popular and there are plenty of other diners moving through.

The vibe

Casual and busy rather than precious. The kitchen covers all day breakfast and lunch with fresh juices and specialty coffee, and the kitchen turns out the savoury muffins and the lemon meringue that people come back for, along with a solid steak sandwich when you want lunch instead of brunch.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the Seascapes Village shopping complex on Boardwalk Boulevard at Halls Head, with parking in the complex car park right at the door. It opens early, from 6am daily through the afternoon, which makes the pre work coffee run work as well as the weekend walk.

Make a day of it

Seascapes Beach is a short walk away for a paddle before or after, and Halls Head Dog Beach gives your dog a proper off leash stretch of sand nearby. If the outdoor tables are full, BUNA around the corner also takes dogs in its outside seating, and the Mandurah Fenced Dog Park is a short drive back towards Mandurah for a run first, coffee after. Turquoise Mandurah is another dog friendly option if you end up in town.
