Typica Cafe Manuka

Typica Cafe Manuka is a specialty coffee and brunch spot at 4 Palmerston Lane in Griffith, just off Flinders Way in the Manuka shops. It is one of the busiest brunch tables in the precinct, with an all-day menu that leans inventive: panko-crumbed fried milk bread eggs benedict, french toast, fritters and smashed avo, poured alongside single-origin coffee. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, and on weekends the strip hums with neighbourhood dogs settled beside them.

The dog setup

Dogs take the outdoor seating, including the tables facing The Lawns; the indoor service area is people only. Staff bring out a water bowl on request, so ask rather than assume one is already placed. Keep your dog leashed and tight to the table: the lane footpath carries real foot traffic at brunch peak, and the queue for tables runs past the outdoor rows.

Max: before 9am on a weekend you get an outdoor table without the wait; after that this lane fills up fast.

The vibe

This is a destination cafe rather than a quiet local, which is why tables turn slowly on Saturdays and Sundays. Doors open 7am to 2pm on weekdays and 7:30am to 2pm on weekends, and bookings are accepted alongside walk-ins. Vegetarian and vegan options run across the menu, and the coffee list is the reason half the suburb shows up.

Getting there and parking

Manuka Village sits just off Captain Cook Crescent, with street parking on Palmerston Lane and the surrounding streets that fills early on weekend mornings. If the kerb is full, the Manuka Circle parking areas behind the shops are a short walk away.

The Lawns beside the cafe give a short grass stretch for your dog before you leave, and Telopea Park is a few minutes' walk for a longer run. For a waterside walk with the dog afterwards, the Bridge to Bridge Loop over Lake Burley Griffin is a short drive.
