The footpath tables out front are the dog zone. The inside room is small and intimate, so plan to sit outside with your dog on a lead tucked under the table. Water bowls are usually available but bring your own just in case the footpath is full.

The drawcard is the local and imported wine and craft beer list, backed by a food menu that leans European: reuben and toasties, wraps, and house sauerkraut on the plate. The coffee holds its own too, with the long black a repeat order among regulars. It trades 7am to 2:30pm Monday to Saturday and closes Sundays, which makes it a breakfast-and-lunch venue.

Getting there and parking

Aberdeen Street is the main strip of Geelong West, with free street parking along the block that tightens over the lunch window. Pakington Street's cafe strip is a short walk away if you are already in the area on foot.

Close by with the dogs

For a leg-stretch before you settle in, the Barwon River trail is a short drive south with riverside walking all the way. If you want to make it a longer session, The Cork Bar on the same strip covers the evening shift, and Sodi Cafe is another dog-friendly coffee stop in the suburb.
