Berry Good Superfood Bar (Elwood)

Berry Good Superfood Bar is a health-focused counter on Glen Huntly Road in Elwood, near the St Kilda Street end of the strip, built entirely around organic acai bowls, superfood smoothies, fresh juices and coffee. Everything is made from scratch in house daily, dogs are welcome at the tables out front, and the whole thing is quick and casual rather than a sit-down brunch affair.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating at the front, which is the practical option here given the small counter format. Staff are friendly and often put out water bowls. A genuinely handy detail for dog owners: there is a pet shop a few doors down, so treats or a forgotten water bowl can be picked up on the spot.

The menu

The acai lineup is the core of the menu: The Choc-Nut, The All-BerryGood, The PB Drizzle, The Fruit Island, The Biscoff Crunch and The Pistachio Drizzle, all built on organic acai with house made toppings like peanut butter drizzle and granola. Beyond the bowls there are toasts and pastries, fresh juices, smoothies and coffee, with plenty of plant-based choices across the board. Bowls are generous, the pistachio drizzle has its fans among reviewers, and the store also runs on Ubereats if you are walking the dog past rather than stopping.

Getting there and hours

It sits on Glen Huntly Road in Elwood, with street parking on the strip and side streets, busier on weekends. Hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4:30pm on weekends. The position makes it an easy stop on a walk between Elwood Beach and Elsternwick Park.

Make a day of it

Elwood Beach Dog Off Leash Area is a short walk away, with seasonal sand rules under the City of Port Phillip, and St Kilda Beach Dog Off Leash Area is up the coast. For a fenced run, M.O. Moran Reserve on Marine Parade is the closest option, and Combi Elwood on Ormond Road is another dog friendly stop on the same side of the suburb.
