Daisys By The Park - Cafe Dundas

Daisys By The Park is a family-owned cafe at Shop 3, 28-36 Yates Avenue in Dundas Valley, sitting directly beside the Dundas Park parkland, and the cafe advertises itself as dog-friendly on its own channels. The outdoor alfresco area takes dogs, which makes the walk-then-coffee combination the obvious way to visit.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, on a lead and settled beside your table. Water is usually provided, but bring your own bowl to be safe on busy mornings. Do a lap of Dundas Park first to burn off some energy, then claim an alfresco table for a well-earned rest; weekend mornings are the busy window, so a weekday visit after the 6am open is the quiet version.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen runs all-day breakfast and lunch: a well-regarded bacon and egg roll, acai bowls, Daisys big breakfast, eggs benedict, smashed avo, halloumi and a steak sandwich, with daily salads and Husky pies for the cabinet. Coffee is Toby's Estate, and takeaway cups are the move if you are heading straight to the park. There is also a nutella hot chocolate that does steady trade with families. Hours are 6am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm weekends.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on Yates Avenue with onsite parking, plus extra street parking near the amenities building, and the park is literally next door, so access on foot with a dog is as easy as it gets.

For dedicated off-leash exercise beyond Dundas Park itself, Cowell's Lane Reserve at Ermington has large off-leash areas with walking paths, and the George Kendall Riverside Park fenced dog park offers a secure run a short drive away. Big Tree House Cafe at Rydalmere is another dog-friendly stop nearby.
