Pause Button Cafe

Pause Button Cafe is a bright, newer brunch cafe at Shop 13, 31-37 Dreamworld Parkway in Coomera, run by the team behind Southport's Humble Cafe with chef Stanley Lam's fusion menu at the centre. It has drawn a strong early following, and it handles dogs properly: undercover outdoor seating with water bowls provided, and puppuccinos for the four-legged guests. It is a breakfast-and-lunch venue, open daily from 6am to 2pm at last listing, walk-ins only.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the undercover outdoor seating area, which matters in Coomera because afternoon storms and summer sun both get handled. Staff provide water bowls and will whip up a puppuccino, and the tables are roomy enough for a dog to settle. The good spots go quickly at prime brunch times, so arrive early on weekends. Indoors is reserved for humans, and the table-service model means your dog does not queue with you.

The menu and the vibe

The kitchen leans playful: crispy chicken on house-made Belgian waffles with honey chilli sauce and pickled daikon, potato rosti dishes, an octopus 'nduja scramble, and novelty drinks such as a pina co-brew and violet cold foam alongside solid matcha. Reviewers flag it as good for kids as well, and genuine table service instead of QR codes gets a mention. Parking is the local standout: free onsite parking in the complex, a real rarity in the area, minutes off the M1 near the theme-park precinct.

Coomera Sports Park Fenced Dog Park on Beattie Road is the obvious pairing: a fully fenced off-leash run with an agility course, water tap and bowl, plus ovals and toilets in the wider complex. Upper Coomera #2 Fenced Dog Park is the quieter neighbourhood alternative on Gannon Way. City of Gold Coast rules require leads on entry and exit of off-leash enclosures, bags carried at all times and dogs kept from playgrounds.
