The Little Kitchen

The Little Kitchen is a small brunch cafe at 275 Arden Street, near the northern end of Coogee Beach, a short walk off the coastal path. Dogs take the footpath tables out the front, which makes it a natural coffee stop on a beach morning without fighting the Coogee Bay Road crowd.

The dog setup

The dog-friendly zone is the footpath seating directly in front; indoors is for people and assistance dogs only. Staff are welcoming and water bowls usually appear, but the name is honest: the space is small, so the outdoor tables get tight when the rush hits. Best suited to a calm dog that will tuck in beside the table rather than conduct a tour of the footpath.

The vibe

Open seven days from around 6am to 2pm, it runs on solid coffee and brunch plates: avocado on toast, poached eggs, crumpets and a fried chicken burger that regulars come back for. It feels noticeably calmer than the main beach strip, and the early opening suits post-swim and pre-work traffic.

Getting there and parking

Street parking on Arden Street and the surrounding side streets is competitive on weekend mornings, so arrive early if you want a close spot with the dog. Buses run along Arden Street and nearby Coogee Bay Road, and the coastal path puts most of Coogee within a few minutes' walk.

Make a day of it

The northern end of Coogee Beach is minutes away, and Jervoise Bay Dog Beach gives your dog an off-leash swim before or after brunch. Coogee Dog Park is another nearby leg-stretch option, and the Grant Reserve walk adds an on-leash coastal stretch.
