The short version. Bohaus is a Scandinavian-leaning coffee spot at 226 Coogee Bay Rd, set back from the beach crowds and welcoming to dogs at its front tables. It is a coffee-first stop with a good local reputation.

The dog setup. Dogs go at the outdoor tables at the front, on the footpath and entryway. Indoors is for people only. Staff are dog-friendly and often put out a water bowl. The front seating is compact with small tables, so it reads as a quick coffee stop rather than a spot to spread out with a big dog.

Good to know. The coffee is the headline and consistently well rated, with breakfast and lunch alongside. Being partway up Coogee Bay Road, it sidesteps the heaviest crush right by the sand.

Getting there. Street parking is on Coogee Bay Road and the residential streets around it, limited on weekends. Buses run along Coogee Bay Road.

Make a morning of it. It is a short walk down to Coogee Beach and the coastal path. Weekday mornings are the calmest window if you want an unhurried footpath table with the dog.
