Bramble Bay General

Bramble Bay General is a family-run specialty coffee shop at 150 Hornibrook Esplanade in Clontarf, set across the road from the bay foreshore on the Redcliffe Peninsula. It is a relaxed morning stop with dogs welcome at the front outdoor tables, and it doubles as the home of the creme brulee latte that has made the venue a social media regular.

The dog setup

Dogs sit in the front outdoor seating area, which catches the sea breeze and the bay view; indoor seating exists but the outside tables are where you and the dog belong. Water bowls are often available. The esplanade path runs right past, so a leashed dog settled beside the table stays in the flow of walkers.

Pepsi: fine weekend mornings fill both the cafe and the esplanade parking, so a weekday sunrise run followed by coffee here is the calmer version of the same outing.

The vibe

The coffee leans specialty, with the creme brulee latte and its torched sugar top the talked-about order, plus rotating house syrups and matcha. Food runs to toasties, cabinet cakes, light brunch and weekend specials like breakfast spring rolls, and there is a kids' toy corner that keeps it popular with families. Doors open early, 5:30am weekdays and 6:30am weekends, closing around 2pm.

Getting there and parking

The cafe fronts Hornibrook Esplanade, with street parking along the waterfront that fills quickly on fine weekends. It pairs best with a foreshore walk so the car can stay put once you land a spot.

Close by with the dogs

The Artemis Dog Beach Strip sits directly opposite for a waterfront stroll before or after coffee, Kroll Gardens adds a fenced run nearby, and Puk Espresso is a short walk along the same esplanade if you want a second option.
