Peckish Cafe Cheltenham

Peckish Cafe is a casual all-day cafe on Station Road in Cheltenham, a short walk from the station, with a broad menu and dog-friendly footpath seating out the front. It is listed by the Bayside Dog Owners Group among the area's dog-friendly eateries, and it does a steady trade from locals and Kingston City walkers alike.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables at the front, casual pavement-side seating. It works best for small to medium dogs settled beside the table; the footpath is a shared strip, so keep leads short when prams and passers-by come through. Bring water on warm mornings rather than counting on a bowl being on the table.

The menu

The kitchen runs 7am to 4pm daily with a wide all-day list: poke bowls, halloumi hashies, a corn fritter stack, chilli scrambled eggs and a solid steak sandwich, plus smoothies including the mango magic people keep ordering. Weekends run slightly shorter service from 7am to 3pm. It is unfussy food done well, which suits a post-walk breakfast more than a long leisurely brunch.

Getting there and parking

Station Road sits in the Cheltenham activity centre, close to Cheltenham station on the Frankston line and a short drive from Nepean Highway. Street parking runs through the surrounding blocks, and the area is flat and easy walking with a dog.

Close by with the dogs

The Snowdon Reserve fenced dog park is the local off-lead run, and the Mentone Beach dog off-leash area is a few minutes up the coast for a morning swim. Frank's is another dog-friendly cafe option in Cheltenham.
