What visitors mention
Caroline Springs Lake is a man-made lake ringed by a flat, paved loop of roughly 1.5 to 2km, sitting in the middle of the suburb off Lakeview Terrace. It is an on-lead walk from start to finish, and the appeal is simple: an easy, pram-friendly circuit with water views, plenty of benches and no gradient to speak of.
The rules. Dogs must be on-lead at all times around the lake path and the adjacent parklands, and under effective control throughout. Keep out of the playgrounds and any signed conservation-sensitive zones, and pick up after your dog using the bins around the loop. If you want off-lead time, the fenced Boronia Drive Reserve dog park at Hillside is a short drive away.
What's there. Well-maintained concrete paths good for walking, jogging and prams; benches spaced around the circuit; public lighting, though some sections dim after dark; and rubbish bins at several points. The lake itself is for scenic use, not swimming.
Getting there. Access from Lakeview Terrace or College Street. There is street parking on the residential side and parking at the shopping centre, though centre bays carry time limits, so check the signs. Bus route 460 runs along the Caroline Springs Boulevard corridor if you are coming without a car.
Watch-outs. The water can be prone to algae blooms, so check council signage before letting your dog near the edge, and do not let them drink from or swim in the lake. The loop is busy with families, cyclists and walkers, so keep your dog close on the narrower stretches.

When to go. Weekday mornings and evenings draw commuters and walkers, and weekend mornings are the social peak. For a quiet lap, aim for weekday midday or later in the evening. Good for steady on-lead walkers rather than dogs after a run.
