Audrey's Cafe

Audrey's Cafe sits within Canyonleigh Retreat at 2400 Canyonleigh Road, a farm-to-table stop in the rural country between the Southern Highlands and the Hume Highway. It is known for its scones, good coffee and produce grown on the property, and dogs are welcome on a lead in the outdoor courtyard.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the rustic outdoor courtyard and terrace around the cafe, on lead at all times. There is no dedicated water station or treat bowl on arrival, so bring your own and check in with staff if it is your first visit. The gravel and grass underfoot suit a dog settling in for a slow breakfast far better than a footpath table.

The vibe

The kitchen works from seasonal and on-site produce: fresh scones with local relish, solid coffee, and a changing breakfast and lunch menu, with woodfired pizza nights and occasional live music on weekends. Hours run 8am to 2pm daily, so plan around a lunch finish rather than an afternoon call.

Pepsi: order the scones first, walk the dog around the retreat gardens while they bake, and come back to warm ones. That order of operations is the whole point of a farm cafe.

Getting there and parking

Canyonleigh Road turns off the Illawarra Highway side of the Southern Highlands, with the last stretch on gravel country roads. Parking is free on site at the retreat, with accessible parking and a level entrance.

Close by with the dogs

The quiet lanes around Canyonleigh suit an on-lead leg stretch, and Clonmel Cottage takes dogs in the same village for a weekend stay. If you are pushing on to the highway, Potter's Pantry in Bundanoon is a dog-friendly stop on the other side of the hills.
