Brimful Of Asha

Brimful Of Asha is a homemade breakfast and lunch cafe on Duchess Street, just off the Busselton CBD, and it is one of the most genuinely dog-set-up cafes in town. The grassed, fenced area out the back is the draw: a rare cafe where the dog can actually settle off the footpath.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the veranda, the deck and the fenced grassed yard, with tether points to clip onto. The kitchen runs a dog menu with sausages, scrambled eggs and pup cups, and the cafe hosts the occasional dog playdate in the yard. Indoors stays people only, so plan to sit outside.

Pepsi: A fenced yard plus scrambled eggs on the dog menu is about as good as a brunch stop gets. Bring a towel if it has rained, the grass holds the damp.

Worth knowing

The food leans wholesome and homemade, with a big cabinet and solid coverage for coeliac, vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free diets. Service is friendly and unhurried. It opens at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends, closing early afternoon, so the yard is best before the day warms up.

Getting there and parking

Find it at 63 Duchess Street, a short hop from the town centre, with street parking directly out the front. Everything is walkable from here: the Busselton foreshore and jetty precinct are close by for a long leg-stretch, and dogs are welcome along the foreshore paths though not on the jetty structure itself.

Make a day of it

For a structured run after brunch, the Vasse Dog Park is a few minutes' drive south. Other dog-friendly tables in town include Poppy & Pip Cafe, while Jibba's Hot Sauce covers the chilli-loving half of the table.
