Magnolia Lane Burleigh Heads

Magnolia Lane sits on the corner of First Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway in Burleigh Heads, a casual coffee stop that runs a morning only service and opens early enough for dawn walkers. The breezy corner footpath seating makes it an easy dog friendly choice before or after a beach walk.

It is footpath dining, so keep your dog settled and out of the pedestrian flow along the highway side. Come early for a shady spot; peak morning hours fill the small seating area quickly.

The vibe

Specialty coffee is the draw, backed by a short, well executed breakfast menu: chilli scrambled eggs, a mushroom toastie, sourdough crumpet and Italian baked eggs, with cold brew and milkshakes for the less caffeinated. The room is small and casual, and the kitchen wraps up around late morning, so plan this as a breakfast stop rather than a long lunch.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at shop 6, 1863 Gold Coast Highway, on the First Avenue corner. Street parking on First Avenue can be tight given the cafe's popularity; parking further down the avenue or near the beach and walking up is the reliable fallback. The beach end of First Avenue puts you a short stroll from the sand.

Make a day of it

The Tallebudgera off leash dog beach and the Melaleuca Dog Park are both short drives south in Palm Beach for a proper run, and Tarte Bakery & Cafe is another dog friendly table nearby if the queue here is out the door.
