Twisted Wonderland Café

Twisted Wonderland Cafe is the Alice in Wonderland themed cafe inside the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House on Strouds Road, Bonville. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor garden and cafe seating, but they cannot come into the Butterfly Glasshouse itself.

Dog access and setup. Well behaved dogs on leash are fine in the outdoor garden and surrounding seating. The indoor Butterfly Glasshouse is off limits for pets, this is a biosecurity rule, not a fussy one: residue from flea and tick treatments can be lethal to the butterflies. Accredited assistance dogs are the exception and can go almost everywhere except inside the glasshouse enclosure. Water bowls are usually out in the outdoor area, but bring your own bowl to be safe.

Known for. Handmade scones with jam and cream, specialty teas, and a themed Mad Hatter high tea. It is a whimsical, photo-friendly spot rather than a big dining venue.

Getting there and parking. About 10 to 15 minutes south of Coffs Harbour, just off the Pacific Highway, with free on-site parking.

Nearby with the dogs. Bongil Bongil National Park has on-leash trails close by, and Boambee Beach a short drive away is popular for off-leash time. Confirm current dog rules with the cafe if you are planning a longer visit.
