Blendcraft

Blendcraft is a health-focused smoothie bar and cafe inside Hawaiian's Melville at 380 Canning Highway, Bicton, one of the first Erewhon-style smoothie spots in Perth. It opens early most days (7am weekdays, 6am Sundays, with the shortest hours on the weekend afternoons) and keeps shaded outdoor tables where dogs on lead are welcome.

The dog setup

Dogs settle in at the outdoor tables under the tree canopy on the centre's forecourt, on lead and under control. Hawaiian's Melville leans into being pet-friendly: the centre provides dog lead mounts and water bowls near the entry doors, so a bowl is usually within reach even if the cafe itself does not run a dedicated dog menu. Staff have a friendly reputation with dog owners. Bring your own treats, and check with staff if the forecourt is busy.

Smoothies and the menu

The menu is built on nutrient-dense smoothies with no added sugars, with names like The Wharfie, Poolside, Training Day, The Big Tropical and Spirit Animal, plus a kids range. Around the blends there is a solid spread of vegan and vegetarian wholefood bites and decent coffee, so it works as a light breakfast stop rather than a big brunch. It suits a quick, leashed coffee break more than a long sit-down, given the shopping centre setting.

Getting there and parking

The centre has free customer parking off Canning Highway for up to three hours, and the bays are monitored, so keep an eye on the clock if you are adding a walk. The cafe sits inside the centre, just off the main car park.

Close by with the dogs

Attadale Reserve on Burke Drive has a designated off-leash area along the Swan River foreshore, though some conservation strips nearby require leads, so read the signs. Webber Reserve in Willagee runs an off-leash zone around its sports oval. One caution: parts of the Point Walter foreshore near Bicton Baths are off limits to dogs, so check City of Melville signage before committing. For another coffee stop, Pig & Fig Cafe in Attadale is famously generous with dog treats.
