Aggy's Corner works the front of West Street in Balgowlah, a small espresso bar with a morning rhythm: 6am openings on weekdays and 7am on weekends, closing at 1pm daily. It is a coffee-first operation, built for regulars on the walk to and from the harbour side of the suburb rather than a sit-down brunch room, and the shopfront at 94 West Street puts it on the natural route between the residential streets and the water.

The dog welcome here is unusually developed. Dogs are welcomed in the outdoor seating areas with water bowls provided, the counter sells kangaroo chew treats for canine customers, and there is a Dogs of Aggy's polaroid wall where visiting dogs get their photo added, per the Pupsy listing that documents the setup. The polaroid wall is the tell: this is a cafe that expects dogs as a normal part of its clientele rather than an occasional exception. If your dog is on the small side, a chew treat and a water bowl at the footpath table is a complete stop; the 1pm close just means you need to be a morning person.

The vibe

The menu is compact and done well: ham and cheese toasties, banana bread, avo toast, cookies and croissants, with a long black as the house benchmark coffee. There is no kitchen sprawl, which suits the format; you are here for the coffee and the dog culture, not a menu decision. The weekend opening slides an hour later to 7am, so the early dog-walk crowd shifts to Saturday and Sunday mornings too. The outdoor seating fronts the street, which keeps the dog side of things simple and gives you a vantage point for a suburb that runs on footpaths.
