Pantori Cafe

Pantori is a Japanese-influenced cafe and bakery on a quiet side street just off Princes Highway in Arncliffe, best known for Ona specialty coffee and shokupan sandwiches. The side-street position keeps it calmer than a highway cafe, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor seating area, on lead. Staff are generally accommodating with four-legged guests, though there is no indoor access under standard food rules. The cafe does not always have a water bowl out, so carry your own, particularly for smaller dogs. The quiet street is a plus for dogs that get jumpy near traffic.

The vibe and the menu

This is where Japanese bakery technique meets cafe brunch: shokupan sandos, miso udon carbonara, katsu and prawn rolls, and butter pancakes on the weekend menu. Matcha is done properly. Hours run 7am to 2:30pm weekdays and 8am to 2:30pm weekends. Weekday mornings before the school run are the calm window; weekends fill with a brunch crowd that knows what it is there for.

Getting there and parking

The address is Shop 319, 213A Princes Highway, Arncliffe, behind the Catholic school. Free onsite parking is available, and Arncliffe station is a short walk, so it works as a coffee stop either side of a train trip.

Close by with the dogs

The Wolli Creek pathway and the off-lead area at Shepherd Parade Reserve in Bardwell Valley are the easy leg-stretch options, and the Cook Park Trail at Kyeemagh gives you a bay-side walk a few minutes' drive away. Simplicity cafe is the other dog-friendly coffee stop in the suburb if Pantori's queue is out the door.
