De Beaurepaire Wines is a family-run, single-estate vineyard at 189 Lynch's Road, Rylstone, established in 1998 and producing French-style wines from cool-climate limestone soils. For dog owners, the defining reason to visit is the outdoor lawn bar: a picturesque, quiet rural setting with vineyard views where well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Dog setup. Dogs are permitted in the outdoor lawn bar area only. The indoor cellar door tasting room is generally restricted to service dogs. A leash is required at all times, as this is a working vineyard. Staff provide water bowls on request, but bringing your own bowl is the practical move.

Known for. De Beaurepaire holds a 5-Star Winery rating in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion and won Australian Wine of the Year in 2018. Tasting options include guided tastings and self-guided flights, available either in the cellar door or out on the lawn bar. Live music runs every third weekend, which pairs well with a long lunch if you are bringing a dog and want to settle in outdoors.

Getting there and parking. The venue sits on Lynch's Road, Rylstone, easily accessible by car with ample free on-site parking. A gravel path leads from the car to the lawn bar and is easy to navigate.

Nearby with the dogs. Rylstone town centre is a short drive away and has pet-friendly cafes with outdoor seating if you want to round out the day. For a fuller wine-trail outing, two Mudgee wineries roughly 30 to 40 minutes away are worth pairing into the trip: Lowe Family Wine Co and Burnbrae Wines, both of which generally welcome pets in outdoor areas.

Cellar door hours are Wednesday 11am to 2pm, Thursday to Saturday 11am to 5pm, and Sunday 10am to 3pm. For a visit with your dog, aim for a Thursday to Saturday afternoon or a third-weekend live music session, when the lawn bar is at its best and you have the most flexibility to settle in outside.
