Bimbadgen at 790 McDonalds Road is a premier estate with a Tuscan-inspired courtyard, a wood-fired pizzeria and big vineyard views, and it is one of the more genuinely set-up-for-dogs venues in Pokolbin. The outdoor courtyard and pergola are where dogs go, and the kitchen even runs pawcuterie boards so the dog gets its own treats while you eat.

Where the dog goes. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor Tuscan courtyard and pergola area, which is where the pizza and wine are served. The indoor tasting room and restaurant are for people only, so settle outside, which has the elevated vineyard views anyway. Lead on at all times.

The dog setup. The standout is the pawcuterie board of dog treats, made with Mimi and Munch, so the dog has something to work on while you have lunch. Keep your dog well-behaved around other diners. Bring your own bowl as backup though water is usually around.

What is there. Estate-grown wines, an authentic wood-fired pizzeria and big views from the elevated courtyard. Bimbadgen is also a major live-music venue, home to A Day on the Green concerts, so expect it to be busier and noisier on event days.

Getting there. 790 McDonalds Road, with a large free on-site car park at the estate entrance.

Wood-fired pizza for you, a pawcuterie board for the dog, vines as far as you can see. Hard to top for a long lunch.

When to go. A sunny day in the courtyard is the brief. Check the events calendar and avoid concert days if you want a calm visit, as A Day on the Green crowds change the place entirely.
